Does anyone on here still listen to record's? I do. We all know CD's and MP3's are great for conveiniance but, in my opinion you just cant beat vinyl. You've got the great album sleeve's, the great sound, and if your a dj, they are the easiest to manipulate.

Well I've still got quite a lot of vinyls, and I do still play them. I'm not sure whether I'd even be able to replace them today, especially the boot leg versions.

I no longer have any vinyl, but that’s because I spent most of my life travelling. I did have a collection of everything on the Australian Red Eye and Black Eye labels, and some old Celibate Rifle albums, but I put them onto my hard drive as MP3’s last time I moved.

I did take my ex partners 10 year son into a vinyl specialist shop a couple of times, and he’d never seen vinyl before – he loved all the big gatefold sleeves, classy artwork (well, on some of them ) and the whole idea of vinyl/the history/etc.

It’s pretty easy to put all your irreplaceable old vinyl onto CD/MP3’s for posterity! You could use a free piece of software like Audacity (there are better ones, but not free), plug your turntable into your computer, and away you go! Hey, I just thought of a way for me to make money

In fact Maplins even do a reasonably priced USB turntable now. And tape decks.

I still think it's great to collect vinyl, but in this day and age, and the technolgy available, wonderful to be able to make all that rare vinyl a bit more 'portable'.

If I was you I'd stick to playing the record's normally - when you copy them into a digital format they dont sound quite the same. c.d's and other form's of digital music have been especially mixed for that format. Beside's vinyl sound's better anyway, if it's kept in good nick.

Like most of the best house DJ's in the world I mostly DJ with vinyl and can't ever imagine I will ever change completely to CD although I do know some very good DJ's who have.
