Home >> Music >> the MAD HATTERS CLUB are we nuts!
14.01.2010, 20:02 quote
The phrase mad hatter, or rather mad as a hatter came from the fact that over-exposure to the mercury they used to keep the rims of the hats curved sent them mad.
I love teachers that can't really stay on topic for long.

Think I must be a mad hatter tomtom...I love bopping in my living room to all sorts of music :0) ....even at my age
Also I did actually go out with a pair of pants on my head once!...it was normal for me (and my sisters) when we were teenagers to put knickers on our head (round the house!)- to keep our long hair off our faces - they are perfect for the job! Anyway one time I forgot about them and went down the street with a pair of pants on my head...ooops....not very cool and slightly mad. ![]()

The 'party' could well come from a Victorian therapy (ordeal) were the insane were given roles, occupations to enact in a party situation in an effort to train them to be functioning people.

This is the continuation of your sig:
'Life is short, wear your fancy pants...'
...on your head!
Were there no catcalls, or whistling?
No shouts of, 'Have you got that the wrong way round, or is this the new fashion?'
How did you find out?
