The best impression of whatv my favourite bands are about? Thats a tough one. People will probably disagree with me on this but:
Green Day - Basket Case
Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit or Come As You Are
My Chemical Romance - Welcome To The Black Parade
Fall Out Boy - Sugar, We're Going Down
The Offspring - Can't Get My Head Around You

I wouldn't be a light critic of anyone covering NIN, because they are one of my favourite bands. It's weird how I got to like them, though, because I didn't like their Broken album the 1st time around. For some odd reason, though, I still bought pretty hate machine after that at a 2nd hand shop and then broken grew on me, and I carried on collecting and listening. I'm a strange cookie, because I had a similar reaction when i started listening to the cure and ended up owning all their albums bar one, of those released between ?1977? & 1995. |
You should try and check out the video for the Johnny Cash version as it's excellent as it totally complements the song - It was filmed not long before he died and it's just him and his wife mixed with scenes from when he was young. They both knew that he didn't have much time left when they made it and it makes for a really touching video.

Someone else on another forum mentioned it. It's a good video, I have seen it.
