...so here's a hypothetical for everyone...

you are given 5 minutes by each of the following people out of their day. you decide that your feelings would be best expressed in a song. what song would you play for each of the following people? (title & artist)

1. George W. Bush
2. The Queen
3. Michael Jackson
4. Bill Clinton
5. Osama Bin Laden

incidentally, here's mine Razz

1. War - Edwin Starr (or Bruce Springsteen's version)
2. The Show Must Go On - Queen
3. History Never Repeats - Split Enz
4. Baby Got Back - Sir Mixalot
5. Instant Karma - John Lennon

Same song for 1,2, and 5: "Why don't you kill yourself?" by The Only Ones.
That was easy, wasn't it?
Laughing

I don't know much about breakbeat other than from listening to a couple of mag freebie cds. Prefer faster breaks such as drum & bass.

sounds like the kinda thing Sasha mixes with progressive house. How about BT? Some of his tunes rocked.

sasha yes. airdrawndagger album good. bt has some good tunes too.
trouble is, i find there is too much pigeonholing and classification of music.
so many bloody sub-genres...breaks seems to encompass a lot of other music styles which is what i like about it so much..

I agree. All that matters is whether a tune rocks or not. All these sub genres have been invented by the media so they have something to harp on about imo.

wow, i tend to get beaten online for my taste in music but i think music is a route of expression and is personal to each person.
Here are some of my favourites -

Evanescene, Lacuna Coil, Nightwish, NIN, Korn, Guns N Roses, Nirvana, MCR (sorry !), Within Temptation, Cradle of Filth, System of a Down, Foo Fighters, Fony, Smashing Pumpkins, Queen Adreena,

On the other end of the scale, Joy Division, Johnny Cash, Joni Mitchell, Tori Amos, Eva Cassidy, Beatles, Rolling Stones,

We pretty much have the save taste in music. Except i don't like Korn.

Any song by Eva Cassidy makes me cry..Sad

Yeah i've never liked Korn.
