Home >> Music >> Music I recorded 5 years ago, what do you think (Acoustic)
24.12.2006, 22:20 quote
A few years ago when I had a mundane job, I used to play guitar in my bedroom, I am also quite a bit of a computer buff. I started writing music (not singing) and posting on various sites. I praticed ALOT (5 hours a days). I really could not sing but I was encoraged to do so. The end result was about 5 years ago I wrote, recorded, and produced these songs using a few hundred pounds worth of recording gear.
I got myself a IT career so my music fell the to wayside and I've barely played or sung in all this time.
Just thought I would post them here, see what you people think, they are sort of acoustic, my infuences are David Gray, Damien Rice, U2.

I think the voice is a bit weak and the guitar is a bit too fast...so somehow you should try and make 2 songs from that......find some other chords for the vocals....and some new vocals for the chords......
my 2 cents
if my 8 track every works again i might upload some up my stuff ....

I'm not sure about the voice being weak. Its not like he's trying to sing power songs so the vocals are well within what they are capable of. I must say though that the type of vocal is one where the words seem to blend into the music. They fit in but most of the time I've no idea as to what is actually being said.
Quite sedate and laid back really. One day I'll get some of my stuff recorded and try to find someone to do some lyrics. I can't sing and I'm useless with words so will leave that to someone else! First I either need to get a microphone for the Eko..or give in to temptation and buy that lovely Takamine that comes ready with a pickup
