I'm in agreement about u2, they've been pretty poor this last decade, and i'd also like to add greenday to that list. There first three albums were brilliant, the next two only had a couple of decent songs and their latest offering is nothing short of terrible. I can't think of anybody that have got better as a band.

I was around for the best times in 'live' musical history my teens being from The Beatles and Rolling Stones through the rock era (my fav) with Cream, Hendrix etc. BUT NOW I'm liking the bands influenced by the legends, Muse, Kasabian etc....... and I reckon music MUST be better now 'cos you can still listen to the old as well as the new.
I must admit, I like alot of the trance hardcore and indie music too...but I still love singing along to U2 and dancing around the house!!!
I can't live without music!!! Razz it makes me HAPPYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
