I am not a hard core music person. I don't have any instrunments but I do have a large vinyl collection and an expensive HIFI system.
I really really hate RnB and Dance music as genres, I can't explain why I just really hate. I prefer mens voices and I hate all the synthesised voices a lot of American pop music has.
I love punk (the British stuff), classic rock, a bit of folk, bit of country and some more general pop bands. I was in a club (my regular club, go there so often the DJs all know me) and some was dancing to some music in one of the rooms, it was something like Fallout Boy I can't remember. I told her to excuse me but I need the loo. I had a lot of pints at this stage and as I went into the main room they were playing the love Pistols so I had no choice but to dance and leave the girl alone.
She later spotted me dancing to all the punk with my other mates and didn't look too impressed. I texted her the next day and she didn't reply - I don't blame her.
The above was a very extreme example and I was highly drunk at this stage. However I could never date a girl that was mainly into RnB and Dance because a big part of my life is rock music and RnB is the quickest thing to make me exist a pub/bar.
Give me a bit of Elvis, Johhny Cash, Cure, Smiths, Joy Division, Clash, Ramones, Journey, Led Zeppilin, Guns N Roses, Buddy Holly, Girls Aloud (haha), Hot Chip etc and I am happy.
Does anybody else have this problem where music is far too important? I really don't understand it, but for me RnB is like a cement mixer on full blast. I am not critising the music as its all a matter of taste, but I just don't like it.
