The ones that really piss me off are the 'songs' that are just about stupid rappers rapping about 'bitches + ho's' and 'shooting people'.....

I don't mind rap that has meaning, but most of it is just crap.

the Rap of the early 90's was like it , with a sense, a goal a meaning, today the mainstream is commercial formated for empty heads, exept some underground rap artist wich still keep the original hip hop way, wich was an Urban and revendicative shout. That's why Iprefer going to eard slam performers than mainstream rappers, The slam is the last pure expression of the true hip hop culture, urban poetry...

DM do some great tunes but not usually enough to fill an album. I prefer Nine Inch Nails to DM - more consistent when it comes to churning out good music.

Lyrics do make a song but sometimes mindless pap is ok too. If your dancing away on a beach in Ibiza then you dont really care about the lyrics - you just want some funky beats and a nice melody... well i do anyway.

You are one of the very few people to mention NIN!

Thank you Very Happy
(I love them.)

Intelligent, sarcastic, bitchy, and good taste in music and film.....

Looking good so far.

Yeah, exactly.

I pretty much despise the music of today. It's all meaningless.

commercial music are always meanningless, that's why today only undergrounds bands can give satisfaction to people who can't bear radio format music,
that's why i try to go to little band concerts as frequently as I can, and downloading mostly unknown artists (on download.com for exemple there's some good surprise). When you just expect music from medias they just give you sh... in plastic blister. That's why people who really like music must make an effort to find the true one themselves....

Yeah.

There are a few good artists around now, but I hardly bother with them.

I was a fan of Depeche Mode many years ago and the songs Personal Jesus, Route 66 and Enjoy the Silence all touched me
