I agree, some bands might not be 'legends' or 'great' but live they can be great.....and some 'top drawer' bands can be pretty dull live if the situation isnt good - lighting, sound, crowd etc.
I have seen on several occasions Showaddywaddy. David Cassidy and The Wurzels live and they are fantastic fun live, but they dont dominate my 'must have' album collection, you know. But, saying that, I saw the JoBoxers live while they were number one in the charts and they were terrible, people started booing and they eventually walked off!

For this thread, I wish I could have seen Elvis Presley live (if only I'd been the age I am now to truly appreciate it) and Billy Fury was my cousin's best friend but he died before I got a chance to go to a 'come back' concert.
So two regrets there, oh and I think Queen would have been good live too, Freddy Mercury looked a real entertainer.

I saw Adam & the Ants in 1980 at Carlyon Bay,St.Austell, that was a brilliant show. But there is only one group I wish I had got to see & that was T.Rex, my fav all time band, managed to see tribute called T. Rextasy & he was amazing, looked like Marc Bolan so much, was hard to tell the difference.

I'd have loved to have seen Nightwish while Tarja Turunen was still lead singer. I'm not one of these people who's got a downer on Anette Olzon though and I've got a ticket to go see them in March! Smile

Darren Hayes (ex Savage Garden). I know he's still around but I got stuck on the M25 heading to his concert in Brighton. Apparently he does a really good show and his voice is awesome.

Simple Minds and Alanis Morissette (not together though!)

60s Stones would have my vote.
The LP Get yer Ya Yas out is one of the best live concerts of all time.
And Elvis in Vegas, prime time 50s Jerry Lee Lewis.Don't forget 70s Slade, most underrated band around live.
Lucky to See a lot of new wave acts in their prime like SLF,The Jam,Boomtown Rats,Bowie,Adam & Ants,Specials,Beat..and many more.
nice thread,let's add to it.

I was born in 1981 so there are a whole amphitheatre of bands and solo artists that I would have loved to see and never will. It makes me a bit sad. Crying or Very sad
