Spoilt for choice!
We have 2 free music festivals on the same weekend. There is the 2-day 'Rhythms of the world' festival in Hitchin on Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th, with music and foods from around the world being staged at several locations around the town and parks. I didn't make it last year but the previous year we found the chillout DJ in a bandstand, in some big park, surrounded by mainly hippies... which was nice Very Happy
Also the slightly alternative 'Kaleidoscope' festival in Welwyn Garden Citys Stanborough Park which has a number of different acts on 2 stages set in a natural arena, on the Saturday 14th July, food, kids stuf, beer tents etc. It was a fantastic day out last year, weather was scorchio, and we installed ourselves on the hill infront of the main stage and got caned Wink .
Shame that yet again they are both on the same weekend but well worth visiting either, hopefully the weather will be fantastic again.

i'm no good at organising things....i figure if i tell people they'll come if they want to.
I'm going to the WGC one, if the weather's nice, if anyone wants to join me that'd be nice, will be meeting some friends there anyway, and I can get lashed cos it's only a short cycle ride away, take some stuff in a rucksack, will be good. Smile

No no no...the WGC one is in a real nice park next to a lake. And Hitchin is a pretty market town with old wooden beamed buildings and an open feel to the town centre.

Notting Hill is too commercialised, it's almost a politicised multicultural bandwagon, reported on by news24, with ridiculous attempts to foist it upon visiting foreigners as our equivalent to the Mardi Gras.
