I dont mind sort messages it shows someones intrested so u can then check thr propfilr.

Although I'm new, I'm already a little disapointed with lack of effort to fill in profiles, don't mind relatively short messages but have already had a couple with just a mobile phone number ! I do like a bit more effort! Bad?

Well, with any messages I send I try to show that I'm a sterling wit... or at least half of one. badum tsh.

Still, I think it always helps to show you have something at least resembling a sense of humour rather than "HAI! CAN I HAS MSN? KTHNXBI!"

That being said if I did get a message saying that I'd probably reply, how often do you find people who talk in lolcat?

Why is it as well that you get a small message but they want to MSN? Should I be worried? I know MSN is instant but how will the conversation be anymore....

Don't think there's any reason to be too worried, not anything they can do that a quick /block won't fix.

Seems some people just don't have the attention span to actually wait between messages, does make you think about whether or not you want to talk to them.

true, although in true paranoia style I've set up new account for MSN because the other had my personal email address showing and i get enough spam already!

Heh, it's not paranoia if they really are out to get you.

I do the same to be completely honest, keeps the riff raff out y'know... actually it's mostly the vagabonds and other assorted rascals that I talk to but same principle applies

I dunno... I try to be witty with my messages, I usually comment on something I see on page of the girl I'm messaging, I have an uploaded photo (member's only though - that prob why my pic doesn't show in the forum) AND I have filled in the enhanced description - it seems many of my countrywomen have some kinda attitude problem with men approaching them, two girls I have messaged within 10 days of each other didn't even bother looking at my profile - where's the logic in that?

Well, I sometimes get a pm from a guy which just says "hi".
So, I check out his profile, and it tells me absolutely nowt about him really. So what does he want me to say in return??
Some pm's I get a simply blank, with just an msn address or mobile phone number in the subject line, or just "hi" in the subject line.
To be honest, when I get messages of this kind my immediate thought is "he's bored and wants me to kill time for him awhile",
Sorry but I got better things to do with me life than kill time wiv sum strngr on msn if u no wot i mean....I did respond to one guy late one night his pm said "U r up late, cant u sleep either?" so I wrote back, never to hear from him again....I guess he fell asleep waiting the 30 secs it took me to reply and by the next day he'd moved on to the next target of his affections......
No I dont expect war and peace or someone's life story in the first pm - especially if they are initiating contact - but especially if his profile says bugger all, I'd rather he wrote summat I can actually respond to, to get the ball rolling.
