07.12.2006, 06:08 quote

In the last 7 year I haven't yet managed to meet a compatable woman who wasn't screwed up emotionally from a previous bad relationship. I'm I just a magnet for em, or is it normal for you women not to be able to give love and trust once you get past the 30 mark. That's not an insult to women by the way. They all felt like that due to mens behaviours towards them.

You’re not the only one who thinks that Ian, …have been down that road a few times myself now and has been the reason why at least 3 of my previous relationships have failed. I don’t think it’s exclusively women over 30 though or just women for that matter. In my opinion what it comes down to is trust and finding it again after being let down by a partner in the past. That’s certainly an issue I have anyway and it gets harder to find that trust each time you are let down.

Ever think that maybe the reason they're (we're?) drawn to you is that they feel they can trust you and that you're safe?

Maybe you're going to have to go for someone over 40 !! I am amazed that all you lovely guys are saying the same thing! I am way over 30 but have dealt with all my "emotional baggage" but I do suspect in my 30's I had quite a lot! Everybody has to move on and just enjoy life it can be fantastic and I'm saying that when I haven't a special person in my life. We all need to be happy with ourselves xx

Oh the emotional baggage conversation!

Women over 30, men over 15, small green creatures over 3 foot!

Everyone has baggage, it is how you deal with it, whether it is yours or someone elses that makes you the person you are!

Personally I have no kids, no ex husbands, no particualrly 'bad' past relationships .... but I do have 38 years, therefore I come with a past and therefore baggage, as does everyone!

Just my opinion! Rolling Eyes

Go girl!! I love what you're saying here
Disregarding 2 marriages and 4 kids, I would still have emotional baggage. I still haven't come to terms with my childhood, the kids and ex's are the easy part with me. I'm in my 25th home, that takes it's toll too. When most people say baggage, they mean kids and ex's and with lots of women, it's no big deal. Infact, I resent my kids being classed as 'baggage'.

that’s not what he’s saying though red, ..he’s talking about women who tend to “tar” all men with the same brush because of a previous bad relationship
