I think this is what a lot of girls are looking for but everyone is different. It's important that you said "Give her space when she needs it. Be there for her when she needs it." because in order to stop romance from becoming stifling, I think that is the key.
I would also add that a bit of give and take is necessary in a relationship. I can't speak for anyone else but I personally like to return a little bit of that romance and love. It's nice to feel needed - show a girl that you need her and let her do things for you once in a while too. It doesn't all have to be one-sided romance!

Love is different for different people; some look for the person who is like a mirror of themselves, some look for the "missing pieces of the jigsaw" that make them feel whole.
However, I think some people can't really feel love or don't allow themselves at least. That's sad about our society.
We're all individuals and when we really connect with someone then we ignite the spark that may lead to the "drugged up" feeling of being in love.
It's like you don't have to try any more. It's almost like that's our natural state and once we reach it we feel at home and completely relaxed and happy. Oh for love! Show me the way!
