Hi ... it's ... umm .... 4am and I've been thinking, and wanted to rant about what Love means to me. I like to think of myself as a romantic. I like doing the little things to make someone's day. I'd like a girl to appreciate me when I put her feelings before my own. I'd like to tell her exactly what it is about her I love. Talk to her in movie theatres. Hold her hand. Pick flowers from other peoples gardens and give them to her. Tell her she looks pretty. Sit in the park and talk to her. Tell her stupid jokes. Write poems about her. Just walk around with her. When she starts swearing at me, tell her I love her. Give her space when she needs it. Be there for her when she needs it. Let her fall asleep in my arms. Sing to her (even if I can't) Carve our names into a tree. Get her mad, then kiss her. Push her on swings. Stay up with her all night when shes sick, gently stroking her hair 'til she falls asleep. Teach her guitar. Lend her my cds. Write her letters. Stay on the phone with her, even if she's not saying anything. Buy her ice cream. Let her take all the photos of me she wants. Look into her eyes. Slow dance with her, even if the music is fast. Kiss her in the rain. Hold her in the morning so she knows I'm there, and feels safe.

Is it too much to ask? How long before a girl would find all that boring? How many girls don't appreciate true romanticism and would think that was creepy?

its nice what you said sunshine, but for me, i think that would be too much, i need space and time alone and having someone that completely dotes on me, would drive me crazy.

for me love is having someone who understands me, a friend for when i need them to be, a lover and then the invisible man when i need my own space

Do you think that romance, as I described in the first post, is the reserve of the mature? Girls who are younger (say 20's) seem less inclined to go for romance. I'm not saying ALL, just the majority. I've asked this question a few times and it seems that 20 somethings think romance is creepy or overwhelming. Whereas my age and above seem to appreciate true romance just that little bit more (again, not ALL - just majority). Maybe it's not a girl I need ....... maybe it's a woman !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Before you say - yes... I know I'm only 28. Just working out what would be best for me --- I'd hate to bark up the wrong tree !!!! Which I probably have been doing)

I am 19 and don't think romance is creepy at all! Thats what I want!!! Some people are more romantic while others are more subdued about the expression of their feelings. Maybe the 20-somethings are just after fun and experience, but there are some of us girls that do want everything you detailed above.
