LV, is that really your choice? Can you see any happy ending for a x-mas you spend on your own? You should definately be with others!!!

I wish that my friend RB will live long enough to see Christmas, he SO BADLY wants to share one last xmas with his family before the cancer takes him.
Sorry, you probably meant something happpy. But I just lost a dear friend, and another 2 are not expected to see xmas, so I just cant think happy thoughts right now. Sorry. If I think of some I;ll come back and post them.

Alice, sorry to hear that! It is horrible to just stand helplessness aside. Let's hope that your friends wish comes true!

I wouldn't...well in my case a boyfriend....just means one more person I would have to search for a present for Twisted Evil Laughing

This year...i'm gonna be really selfish and wish for good health for me and all my family. Everyone of us seems to have had a pretty bad year this year

Spending Christmas like that isn't all that bad. It's not great, but it can be quite pleasant... I spent a lovely Christmas by myself... With a nice Christmas tree bejeweled (hope I got that right) on my own... Pampering myself with luxurious body products, enjoying the smells of Christmas, stories, Christmas flicks and the wonderful music of Loreena McKennitt. It really wasn't too bad... And it was a personal choice too, as I could've spent that one with my family. But I spent lots of Christmases with them so I don't regret spending that one alone.

Anyhow... Of course it would be lovely to spend Christmas with a special someone, or with yer family if you have any, but spending it alone isn't all that bad. True love starts within. Wink And so does the Christmas spirit.

Freda, why not help out at your local soup kitchen? Thats what I've done in the past a couple of times, and would do this year if it werent for my kids first xmas without their nan, and as stated above, my 'other half' might not have his mum and/or brother around.
I dont feel "christmassy" at all. Confused

How would I find out about helping in a soup kitchen RG? I hate christmas and am not doing it this year. I would rather feel I'm helping to make someone else's just that bit better.

But no chance I dont think to be honest, from I was told today. He's 36 and has very advanced osophagus cancer and in the liver and glands (only found out last week why he had a persistent sore throat and belly ache).
The worst part is, his mother has the same, (hereditary gene they only found out about a couple of months ago) - they both went to the hospice yesterday "to meet the staff while they are well enough to say Hi" - isnt there summat about lightning not striking in the same home twice at the same time?
I shall see them wednesday.

I wish for christmas, a sense of comfort and peace for all those here on Flirtbox who have already lost loved ones and are going to miss sharing it with them.

I dunno whether wishes really come true but I really wish from the bottom of my heart to God to grant your friend's wishes.I wish he'll make it.I know how it feels to lose someone you love. But this message of yours made me just silent & shocked.I really wish for a great Christmas for him.
