are those the only options? Confused
single advantages: more free-time, more money, more opportunity to concentrate on career, opportunity to be a total slut
single disadvantages: no guarantees of sex, I was going to say companionship, but a single person can get that from friends!
married advantages: sex on tap, companionship, security, tax-breaks
married disadvantages: no guarantees of sex, financial responsibility, opportunities to meet people are restricted tue to exclusivity, relationship mistakes take a long time to solve

OK, you've sold me. I should stay single!

At the moment, I can't think of a single advantage in being married!

Is that taken from the stance of you being married, or have you dipped your foot in but are now fancy free?
BTW, your photos provide empirical proof that oil of olay works!

Weddings are a huge financial burden. Marriage is no longer needed to bring up a family. Germaine Greer's book 'The Female Eunuch' states all the feminist reasons against marriage (although it's a bit outdated by today's standards)

Lets face it though, there is something incredibly sexy and romantic about the notion of meeting someone special, falling head over heels and making them your spouse with a life-long commitment.

If that sounds naive, it probably is, as I've never married!

I was married for 18 years with 2 children, and thought it was for life, only to be cast aside for an older woman.
It was a real shock at the time, but I love my life now and am the happiest I've ever been so maybe it worked out for the best.

Ha!ha! That's one I've never used, sun creams even in winter maybe, but I just decided that from now on I'm going backwards in time, as I've said so often, it seems to be working.....whereas my ex-hubby looks older than his years now....sometimes the grass isn't always greener!

Yes, I still hold with that notion up to falling head over heels , but not making them your spouse with a life-long commitment....or maybe I still would if I were younger and wanted children, but I've seen relationships last longer between couples that don't live together out of choice, and there seems to be far less 'taking each other for granted'. One couple I know even bought houses next door to each other!

I've heard that idea before.
Woody Allen and Mia Farrow had facing apartments on a New York street during their marriage. I suppose their relationship isn't really what one would describe as a model marriage, mind!
