oooh Stu, I'm glad I'm not the only one!!! I was talking with a friend about this the other day, how guilty that makes me feel cuz I really really DO want to put some effort in, but like my own space too much! Confused

I think a lot of us are like this, some people a) don't realise it or b) hope that they can adapt/change when they meet 'the one'

Me, I am too open and honest for my own good, and tell potential girlfriends all this upfront (boy, you should see how fast some of them can run! They'd win a gold at the Olympics, for sure!)

I found The One. God took her away 2 yrs ago so I know I'll never have that again. I honestly don't know what I'm gonna do.

I am so sorry for your loss, cant imagine how you feel, but makes my moaning about life on my own seem petty compared with yours, I hope you will find someone one day Smile

I realized that I never answered this question myself...
If I knew for sure... I'd probably go on having fun and caring for people anyway, but if I found someone I really cared for I'd be somewhat sad, knowing that it's destined for me never to find the one.

I would cry, a lot. Then become a crazy man eater to compensate!

You do know that all that stuff about destiny is nonsense?

The one, soulmate, other half - these are titles people conveniently slap on to those they have a lot in common with.

but to answer the question in earnest (seeing as my last post on this thread was a piss take)

If I knew that this mystical 'one' was not destined for me - i'd go and change my destiny.

You are all human, last time I checked, and you all need companionship. You WILL go ahead and let someone back into your heart.

How far in depends on you really.

The One...lardy lardy lardy
The one and only...
The only one who...
The one I married...

That one love was special,yes.
Love is not for one,yes.
Love is for everyone,yes.
Letting go is...

There is no such thing as the one it is a ridiculous idea.

The idea that there is one person who will fulfill all our needs, one soul mate out there for each of us, is a childish idea

Finding a very dear friend that you fancy is perhaps the closest and luckest anyone can hope for.

Truth is... To say the ONE exists or not is foolish on its own. It's like what's coming after death. Nobody can prove anything. So, again, it's as silly to say there isn't ONE or the ONE does not exist as it is to say there's only one.

Cutting that out... I for one don't believe in a single person, but I somehow wish I did. Otherwise it's all just chemical and we're all just feckers. Which is probably true, but hey... Smile One can still be an idealist, oui?
