Exactly, I think the best advice for anyone new on here is to join in on the forums! Although i am not sure how much is though here, i am definatly doing ok with folk messaging me/repling to mine ect. And lets face it, it's not my adonis like good looks doing it is it?
If internet dating is window shopping, then the forums are like try before you buy.
Its the biggest shop window on the site, sell yourself on it.

From personal experience I think internet pics, profiles and messages are a bit hit and miss, as to realising the real person.
I've been told many times I'm different in real life..so obviously my internet persona doesn't tell anyone anything.
Problem with internet sites is, it often doesnt get past the pics and the profile point, because some people do not bother to look further. You can send the best messages in the world, that doesnt matter if the pic isnt percieved as being good enough.
Personally, the vast majority of people that want to meet me are people that have already met me at meets etc, which makes internet persona's a waste of time for me, and maybe its the same with most people.

Your pic obviously does you favours mate, as far as the forums are concerned. The forums are probably not much of a selling point, if the pic isnt any good.
I've had personal experience of this and had more interest before I put my pic up.

I'm guessing that most women are expecting to see a face when they check out a profile.
