I've been trying to upload an avatar since the day I registered here, to no avail.

I am pretty damn good looking though.
well i can tell you one thing, you must be pretty hot to make up for the closed minded immature disfunctional personality you have! you obviously get off on putting women down was it a bad experience in childhood? or maybe you haven't had any yet so of course women would be evil to you. get a grip and move forums

I was going to berate you for running down every English woman in existance,... but since you say you are very good looking,... I'll hold back,... cos I suppose good looking people are always right.

It's not fair berating just one class of woman, when we all know they are ALL ruthless, cunning harpies! er,.. no just kidding there..

,... you may allegedly be good looking now,.. but I'll wager if the women of england get hold of you, they will beat you ugly,.. so perhaps better not to upload a pic.

But seriously,.. English women do have a bad "image" because of all those reality tv shows about the club reps and booze britain and that sort of stuff.
It kind of perpetuates the image of the loud mouthed coarse drunk variety. Bit like the stereotype of drunken Irish.

I really hate the stereotype of drunken Irish. And when people try to "live up" to this image,... makes me want the earth to swallow me up.

But back on topic,...
Good looks get you in the door, but personality keeps you there.

Not always. I had a relationship with a guy for over 3 years that I met online through the Open University. Dating was not the intention and we got on really well. We wrote back n forth for about 4 months not once seeing a picture of the other. We were already well into each other by the time we met so looks didn't come into it.

Oh, here's another expression my brother heard from an old man out fishing:

"good looks never boiled a kettle"

(Presumably for a cup of tea...)

This old guy also advised him to marry an ugly woman,.. cos within a couple of years they all get a bit rough around the edges anyway,.. and an ugly woman will worship you and do anything for you (and presumably make you a cup of tea).

Not sure I buy into his philosophy, but he has a point. I do like a cup of tea....

I met my last girl online before we met. I knew she was clever and had a nice personaility from our online conversations. When I saw her for the first time at the railway station, I was overcome with lust, she a beautiful young woman she was, certainly lived up to my expectations
