I also think maybe age has something to do with it to?? As the opinons from the younger posters appear far more care free, and maybe just not so experienced on life experiences! Rolling Eyes Oh to be 20 something again!!!

True Exclamation Exclamation but the billion dollar question is " would we make the same mistakes all over again" Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation Probably we would Exclamation Therefor the question of confidence will always hover in the background. Try reading the MEN ARE FROM MARS< WOMEN ARE FROM VENUS series of books. Try and apply what the guy actually says to yourself Exclamation I think like me you will see an awful lot of truth in the statements Laughing Laughing Laughing

Maybe a tad over cautious! Why not arrange for a taxi collect service? make sure you leave at a sensible time so not getting involved in the chucking out time!!!!! a decent taxi driver will always come into the pub to meet you? you can always ask?

goint into the pub on me own is exactly what i'm doing after reading the website. I split up with me boyfriend, and moved to different area in dublin. There are lots of places full of young people, but i don't know anyone... so what's the hell. i feel self conscios though, all people are with the companies or partners, but if you stay in, you never will have a chance to meet any people at all. And anyway, most of people in me local area were older dipsos mostly...

I must admit i find it really hard to be in a pub on my own..its fine walking in, but after half an hour things start to feel uncomfortable..
For a start, most pubs now do not allow smoking at the bar..which means then you have to go and sit down, just to make you stand out even more..and also found that most other people in there are with friends, so approaching anyone to strike up a convo with, means entering into their circle..not an easy thing to do..
So left with sitting on own or if really desperate, trying to talk with the Non-smoking village idiot whos propping up the bar..
So kinda given up going into pubs..lol
