Very few people are blessed to meet the right partner at the right time.we are living in stressful times and it is not easy being in a relationship, especialy if its one sided.

If only love is real, then surely it finds us? Or is love part of us? In which case we find ourselves. Or do we find part of ourselves in someone else?

It's quite a socratean outlook really - I mean an abstract being real, but the physical world being an illusion.

Nice

I can't help that comment bringing abandoned babies to mind. In which case: no.

Sad world isn't it? Confused

Surely love must choose/find us?
Did anybody ever pick someone out of a bus queue or whatever and say, "I'm going to LOVE that person and live with them happy ever after"?
No, it starts with lust, friendship etc. and even an arranged marriage can survive many happy years with lots of kids.
From experience, I have wanted desperately to remove myself from someone emotionally but as long as those feelings of love are there.......No chance!
Love is an emotion.
We cannot turn emotions on and off like a tap.
We can blot emotions out by keeping busy, avoiding that person, launching into a Rebound relationship....but until maybe those emotions die a natural death due to neglect, those feelings will never go away *because you deleted them consciously*.
So I think love chooses us.
Although, we can decide NOT to choose love, by avoiding committed relationships etc.

Is love really all we need? If you love someone but they don't love back, is it still love? Does love make us who we are? Is it possible to feel love and hatred towards the same person?

Most certainly.

I think love is like being on a bus, sitting next to someone, that may have chosen to sit next to you or vice versa. You or the person sitting next to you can
decide when to get out the bus. So, what had a role to play in the seat next to you or him/her been made available at the right time. What if someone decided to get off and left a seat for you. Was that meant to be or did you were you just looking for a seat, anywhere ?

So love and hate are not opposites? Just different colours on the wheel? So does hatred find us too?

Well taking the bus analogy it is just as possible to sit next to someone on the bus that you will grow to love as it is to sit next to someone you will grow to hate. These feelings are not mutually exclusive you can feel them in any levels about anyone.

In my experience i have found love when i have least expected it and when i haven't been looking for it. And yes, i could have chosen to walk away from that but i didn't and at the time it was wonderful.

So i do think it finds us, especially when we've got our backs turned against it.

I think that as we journey through life, we attract people who bring out the best or worst in us. We all have done crazy things in the name of love. I have to admit that falling in love is the most wonderful feeling. And falling out of it,well, we all know what that's like. When does love end? Is it a conscious choice?

09.11.2008, 16:37 quote

Is anything a conscious choice or is consciousness an illusion also? Is it infact a simplification of an existence beyond our comprehension? Is language enough to express and explain our existence?
