Ok so Im new to this but I am really surprised how some blokes feel ok sending a complete stranger a dirty message by way of introduction.(what happened to hi?)I kinda assumed that the persons profile options would cbe a hint as to that persons perference ? The worlds a mixed bag..we all like different things ,thats cool but hey do those guys actually read the profiles or is it a job lot approach?

I think you'll get a mixed bag of responses, some just click on a 'mug shot' when they see who's on-line and don't read the profiles, others read them and use what they've read for their messages, and some, it's a quick scan over and others are going to just be rude to anyone. I do know that some men paste and copy messages and send to a lot of women.
Don't be disheartened I'm sure you'll get some polite and friendly messages soon, there are some lovely guys on site.....I'm just living in the wrong place Crying or Very sad

Yeah, I've heard some stories about how some women treat the men on here too and they can be downright NASTY so I'm pretty sure it all goes both ways.....and then some people message after they've had a few drinks and maybe that's not the best time to be messaging.

Ok so I am clear on the erotic messages things. Thanks for your replies.Next question..a curiosity more than anything. Why do married individuals(as opposed to seperated ) seek extra? i really dont get it. Surely the whole point of making the point of being married is that you decide to shop at home, so to speak? dont quite see the point of being married otherwise? i could just call myself hopelessly old-fashioned but I reckon the concept of marriage is the same in any era?i bet there are many possible dimensions to this question so..what do ya reckon? Rolling Eyes

Loveless unhappy marriages where breaking up seems to be more difficult than staying together.
So to is the "we just go our separate ways"
Different sex drives (frequently due to other stresses in their lives), one partner disabled, needing something more exciting than their partner is prepared to do, loneliness just wanting to have someone to talk to.....these are just some of the reasons that I've been given, but mostly if you just tell a guy that you're not interested because they're married or in a serious relationship they'll just say it's a shame and try the next woman.
I just think it's sad that couples don't always seem to even try to work things out before planning to 'cheat'.

you've got to bear in mind the net is a place where one is forced to express oneself in only words. There's plenty of guys who dont know how to express themeselves never mind use the written word. Add to that reading, comprehension and ego. They're completely fish out of water in this environment. Unfortunately there's no real mechanisms for them to learn the error of their ways. People who learn by doing also learn by feedback that affects their image to other people.
I.e if their mother got to see everything they wrote, things would be a lot different.

maybe that's an answer of sorts tell em you were shocked by their message and you bet their mother would be too!

Anyone's who generally sound ought to be suitably apologetic over the thought of their mother reading their ill-conceived words lol.

I read a blog on another site of a guy who arrived with this attitude and soon realised that it wasnt like he initially imagined. there's prob not too many guys who could have that realization but it illustrates the point that generally sound people behave badly through misconception.

The problem with alot of dating sites is these problems exist and no ones attempting to deal with it. Just cos people are adults doesnt mean that they automatically know how to operate in unfamiliar environments. Assisting people in communication can hardly be a bad thing.
