just read all your posts, and i think you'e all gorgeous!!! i too have an opinion of the "looking gay" thing, i have long red hair, and i aint changing it to suit anyone!!! be who you are not what anyone else expects!! if you want to be noticed as being gay, like having a badge or label or bracelet thats up to you but just reminds me of how the little pink triangle became about, i think you all look fine the way you are!!!! its whats inside that counts!! hee hee xx take care all K xx

I tend to dress how I think a boy would, but that's not always good if you like dresses and stuff. My freinds in america tried to tell me this crap about wearing an earing in your right ear I think, but that's a crock ...! At least , I've never really been able to shake of the guys that way.I'd love there be a way to (like the armband thing) to tell, but I think that would only give the straight another way to spot us out and make fun of us so I'd have to agree with thatnzchick that confidence is needed.

| i reckon i have asolution for peopel in gay clubs, we should wear funky bracelets which colour indicate whether were gay bi straight or afriend whos with his or her gay mates.
we could have pink for gay, purple for bi and green for straight. who knows it could catch on, would cetainly be less confusing. i havnt been out clubbing for ages, i seen to spend most of my time on teh internet searching foir "the one". havnt found her yet but the day i do, shell be treated like a princess. |
What a fantastic idea kitten, the only problem being us women would have to find new outfits to match the bracelets..xx

Yeah I feel your pain girls!
I'm always taken for being straight, even though I've never hidden the fact that I love the ladies. Up until the age of 25 I identified as bi. One way too long relationship and one daughter later, I finally realised that I am actually 100% gay and decided to break out.
Well if it was'nt for the fact that I stumbled into a relationship with my sisters mate (who didn't realise I liked women until we all started hanging out together) I dont think I would've ever pulled!
Clearly I look waaaay to hetro. I dont identify as femme or even go the other way and be tomboyish, but obviously I'm abit too non-descript!
So girls I can sympathise big time!
xx

I try to wear rainbow where ever possible for this reason, my newest rainbow thing is a hair band. I was considering a rainbow stars tat across my collar bone but I'm thinking thats a step too far

| I have cut my hair a lot shorter now than in my picture and as soon as I did it I got a compliment off a gay woman where I worked. I think a lot of gay women think if you haven't got short hair and you don't wear mens clothes your not comfortable with your sexuality. |

I'm straight myself, but I used to go to gay clubs and never got anyone coming on to me, and my mate s used to tell me that they'ed all know I wasn't gay that's why....... but sounds like that weren't true then, by what you're all saying on here........ sad it's difficult for you girls, but I don't think you should change your appearance (unless you wanted to) 'cos the way you have your hair and like to dress, is so much part of your natural expression anyone worth having will accept you for who you are, not a 'fake self' just trying to tell people you're gay.
21.04.2008, 13:48 quote
I'm a bit of a stay-inner so I wouldn't know about clubs, but people always assume I'm straight and are really surprised when I tell them I'm bi. I have quite short hair but I wear loads of makeup and girly clothes like skirts and dresses - tbh I dress and act more feminine than most of my straight friends. Also, all the girls that I like seem to turn out to be straight. I've never been able to find a girl, just been settling for boys for a while but I feel like I'm only living a half of my life that way (especially as most guys my age are really, REALLY immature lol).

I second the notion of wearing badges or something!!!
I hate when I'm checking out a girl and our eyes meet and I smile and wink and she looks surprised, " like oh sh*t... I was just ... looking at the stack of melons behind you, not yours..." I mean honestly?!
Or when I see a girl who looks completely out of my league and or straight and I want to say something and I don't because I'm an idiot. Come to find out she's a les a week later and just got a girlfriend!!!!
Badges please!!! That or we need to secretly hand out gaydar for those who need fine tuning or just help in general like myself.

haha it seems like with me whenever i start talking to a girl either her boyfriends suddenly shows up n then i realise she was just being polite-not flirting, or her girlfriend shows up and im left standing there like a fool haha
