What are your ideal holiday destinations? Where would you go if you had the time (..and money!) ?

What about the Virgin Islands?

i have been to the Virgin Islands, they are lovely. Ultimate destination for me that i have visited has to be Easter Island or French Polynesia (Moorea, Bora Bora etc...) http://www.danger-island.com/dav/photos/french_polynesia/borabora2.jpg

My ideal destination would be New York. But then again, I'm goin there next year. Carrie Bradshaw, Manhattan, so many movies made there. Very Happy Lovely, just like London, I'm sure. Very Happy
Other ideal destinations are all over the Uk.
And the last ones would be Memphis and Nashville Tennessee... As Elvis lived there and I love the southern accent. You should just hear them say Sugar... LAwdy, lawdy, lawdy. Very Happy

Hmm. It's subjective. What's good for one etc....I sailed to the Virgin Isles on my own boat and found them too pricey and touristy, but then what isn't. Last week I was walking in the mountains of Madeira. That is lovely. Once out of Funchal the capital, and away from the cruise liners it opened up a different world. Clear views and isolated footpaths sometimes scary drops. Cheap and well driven buses to get to the start and finish of the walks which is an interesting journey in its self . Friendly people and good prices make for a brilliant holiday.
Another good place is Newfoundland. I reckon the Newfies must rank as the most friendly people in the world. Lots of whales and dolphins out at sea, and indian reservations inland. Most certainly not as warm as the other two places but viva la difference.
