I come from rome but in italy we have so many beautiful cities. My favourite ones, for instance, are siena and palermo, somebody of you have been there?

Ciao Stefano

I'm a country girl at heart so much prefer the mountains and countryside of Italy. My 1st husband came from Abruzzo. Unfortunately, due to the fact that he'd revert back to his Italian upbringing when we went there I'd end up staying in with his mum whilst he met up with his mates, so got to see very little other than where he lived.

I did get to see Fiorenze tho'. beautiful place. I found the Pont a vecchio (apologies for any spelling mistakes. It's been a long time since I used Italian) a most fascinating place.

Genoa in the north of Italy is quite nice. It is by the sea so has the advantage of Meditteranean beaches.

I have traveled oround much of Italy with my work and my favourite city has to be Florence. Naples is an eyeopener. Sorrento, Capri, Amalfi, all stunning. I love the country.

I once went on a trip to Italy and I remember sleeping for one night in some city with narrow streets which appeared to be some sort of mountain resort. I was quite young at that time and I remember lookin' for some sign to say which city I was in. So I saw one which said "Udine". However, if I search for Udine on the Internet I find that it's a city with a surface of 56 km and more than 90.000 people living in it. So I don't know if that's the place which gave me an opportunity to experience the best sleep ever (the hotel also had these HUGE beds) and best air I have breathed so far (felt cold and truly clean).
Stupid of me not to ask our guide which city it was (we only stopped there for one night) but I was really young and travellin with my folks. However, I'd truly recommend that place for relaxation and would really like to know if it's actually Udine or not ( if anyone's got an idea regardin' which place this would be).

p.s. Also been to Venice, Florence and Milan at that time, but I don't remember enjoyin' any of them as much as that one place (dunno why).

Sadly, I've only ever been to Rome when I was about 6 and just remember climbing lots of steep steps near (or at?) st peters and feeling faint with the heat. But my sister lived in Rome for a few years a while back and has some fantastic photos of other places - Florence definitely at the top of my list of places in Italy to go, if I ever get back there, such a beautiful city, wonderful architecture.
