I think its fairly similar all year round. The North side of the island is quite tropical and has plenty of of history. The south side is an arid, hot tourist trap because the locals have more sense than to live their. The volcano blocks the clouds and it always rains on the North, not the South. Except for my birthday when I was there and it rained everywhere..great because I don't particularly like scorching hot sunshine!

Average temperature
20º January
22º February
23º March
23º April
25º May
25º June
26º July
26º August
25º September
24º October
23º November
22º December

Here you can see that that Tenerife features the lowest temperature difference between summer and winter for anywhere in the world, making Tenerife an ideal all year round holiday destination.

Tenerife is divided by a mountain range which then effectively creates two very differing climates in a very short distance. The cooler northern part of the island is a lush tropical paradise with banana plantations and palm trees. Here it is quite possible that you will experience a significant number of cloudy days, and perhaps even a few rain day during your visit. In contrast the south of the island is hot and dry with almost a desert like landscape.

Should be alright, very popular at xmas time because as stated the weather is always pretty decent all year round(geographically it lays just off the coast of N.E. Africa), Had friends who lived there for 7 years so vistied quite alot & spent some time there, depends what your after, playas de las americas for the lively nightlife (basically a bar crawl for a night out) or the more laid back places lke los cristianos, i prefer los gigantes, cristianos & some other lesser known places but if its a week on the piss, drinkin til 5,6 7am in the morn playas your place but they are clamping down on this place big time cos the canarians are absolutely sick to the back teeth with what goes off! & I can't say as I blame them..people chucking up, falling over, fighting & fucking in the streets & gutters (yep I've seen it all with my own eyes)..not really are greatest export.

Playa Las Ameicas and most of the area around there in the South is tourist land. You'll hardly know that you are in Spain and it can be just like any other faceless tourist resort in the World.
Do try and go to the Capital, Santa Cruz and get a taste of authenticity.
Personally, i always stay in Puerto De La Cruz, in the North which is a nice combination of "local authenticity" combined with all the needs of a tourist (e.g Shopping , bars. wicked nightlife and restaurants)
i go every year, i'll next be there Dec 30th for 10 days and i love it.

Wherever you stay, due to the mountain range, on any day it can be raining in the North and sunny in the South OR visa versa. Consider hiring a car - a great idea for chasing the sunshine AND discovering the REAL authentic Tenerife.

Perhaps not my first choice in destinations..but it's affordable..and away from the stresses of work etc..
