Anybody else glued to the snow reports? I'm off to Austria in a couple of weeks and it isn't looking promising.

Yeah...global warming. The ski industry is already crying.

But: You can always go skiing in Austria and Switzerland - even in the summer.
I knew a girl and she went skiing in July every year....you just need to go to the tallest mountains...

You could for instance go to the Pitztal in Austria...you can go skiing there between September and June:

or the Stubaier Gletscher:

If you have a mobile phone check out this url:

If you can not decide where to go and if you happen to have a satellite dish, check out the following tv station every day in the morning between
07:30-and 9:00 or 06:30 and 8:00 British time:

Astra 2 PT45 Frequency 11,141 GHz horiz. 1.141 MHz or 1.391 MHz

I got back on Sunday from 2 weeks skiing.

First week - Andorra (pas de le casa) - snow was terrible

Second week - Switzerland (Anzere) - Dumped 125 cm while we were there and the snow was awesome so don't give up just yet the season could just be getting started!

Well, I've just got back. It wasn't actually that bad. There was some fresh snow and all the runs were open. It did get a bit slushy by the end of the day so we just hit the bars a bit earlier. great fun!

You should also remember that the snow on the Alps is seasonal, most of it dissappears in the spring and summer. The best time to go to the Alps is in the winter.
