..I'm a bit undecided as to which one to visit..I've heard good reports about both..any advice on the nightlife/bars/clubs etc would be appreciated..also anyone know of any decent (but cheap) hotels, B & B's etc in either locations?

I've never been to copenhagen but stockholm is great. Depends what music you are into as to what bar you go to. I used to hang out with the girls at Cockpit which use to play modern pop and dance stuff. If I was with the guy I was seeing, we used to hang out in a hip-hop/r&b bar that I so can't remember the name of. I do remember being the only white person there though!

from past experience I'd suggest Kobenhavn, having said that, I'm going to stockholm in a month or so!

We decided Copenhagen, booked the flight last thurs, It's all good then senna because the B & B I booked is in Kobenhavn not far from central station, looks great for bars/clubs & culture. club blue note sounds the biz for me..opens at 5am!! techno & house club..whoop! jazz clubs & live bands a go go & as for furniture design it has to be the mecca, going to totally indulge.. sweet ..can't wait. Let me know how stockholm is..prob try that next year,

Copenhagen is cool.

Just came back from there.

Just don't try to get a cab after midnight, because you won't.

Also, be careful near the central station. As in most cities, the red light district is near the central station, and there are quite a few druggies around there.

Yeah scot its a cool & chic city, quite boho feel to it as well with the way the people (esp. the ladies) dressed & all the jazz bars & art galleries..effortlessly cool with no attitude...loads of nice bars & clubs..loved vega & culture-box (i think i found my spiritual home in that place) I noticed a few 'ladies of the night' around where we were stoppin but they were no hassle..chatted to a few, most were from sierra leone! working outside the love shops quite funny as they remember you when you are coming & going from your digs & try the patter on you..lol. Saw a few people jackin up around a church yard but they were out the way & there were bins etc..looked like a safe house type of thing..no more worse than you would see in any major city..a few drunks etc.. beautiful place with loads of culture..& loads of bikes!! lol..with unbelieveably gorgeous women darting around on them..i was giddy from all the head turning!! some genetics going on in that country..blimey..all so natural not plastered in make-up. I'm going back v. soon as I met a girl out there who i keep in touch with.

But as in most towns, they are probaby harmless I guess.

I havent been in Copenhagen yet, but if you went to Amsterdam and didnt walk through the red-light district at night, you haven't seen Amsterdam.
It is not sleazy or anything....nice buildings, bars and restaurants.

These days Stockholm is less expensive (besides beer) and less dangerous than Dublin. Go in the summer. Bring swim suit.
