Has anyone here ever been on a british holiday park??

I did last year. I went to camber sands near rye in essex and thought it was brilliant.
I was apprehensive at first as the first thing that popped into my mind when i thought about it was oh dear lots of old biddys arguing over bingo cards, but i was stood corrected.
There was so much to do there it was unbelieveable. great sports equipment. 3 swimmming pools choice of resturants and a local supermarket. i loved the entertainment to, my little boy had a great time. and the best thing of all was there was 7 miles of sandy beach just a stones throw walk away.

I thought the caravan itself would be a nightmare but infac it was like a hotel apartment on wheels. well a set plot but the same difference.

If you have kids and always get them moaning their bored whilst on holiday then i highley reccomend park resorts holiday parks.

I used to go to Camber Sands when I was a wee lad, but would stay in the Butlins holiday resort there. Went about 3 times, and the conditions were fairly appalling. Still had a remotely good time though, met Hulk Hogan after a live wrestling event. Was bizarre.

I like to go camping in Roydon, which is just down the road from me. It's right next to a train line, but aside from that, it's cheap and very pleasant.

I do quite a few caravan hols, as a single mum they are great value and minimum travel hassle when you have kids. Every year my son asks for a butlins break for his birthday as it falls in the summer hols so we do that too. I have a week in Wales booked this year and also will do butlins but if you can leave it til last minute you can get a great bargain Laughing

We collected the vouchers from The Sun nd did the £9.50 holiday. Caravan with 4 mates in Cleethorpes for my birthday. We loved it!! Reminded me of childhood holidays in Bridlington.

My main experience has been via large chat meets organised on an irc server I used to be regular on, although I been to a few with just people I knew. The entertainments were usually not the best where I've been to, but cost was very reasonable & overall were a good laugh and the accommodation was fine

It all depends on what you're after I suppose. With the right people & things taken along, even a fairly basic camp site can be a good laugh. I might be going on just such an adventure in August

used to have family holidays down in selsey on a caravan park, it was a great complex, loads to do there http://www.bunnleisure.co.uk/html/122.html
i went back a few years ago and it was still very good, with lots of new things there as well. we also used to go to butlins at clacton, but not sure butlins is still there?
i worked for over 7 years for a holiday company that sells camping holidays in europe, mostly i went to france with them and holland, they were brilliant holidays as well. if you have a good holiday you only really use your accomodation for sleeping and washing in so caravans/mobile homes are pretty good for that with less to pay than a hotel usually. Smile
