Well apparently its best to avoid some guy called Gary at Dunnes Stores in Grafton Street, Dublin!

Seriously though, Will you be hiring a car to get around? Do the Ring of Kells, The Sally Gap.
Oooh dont forget Glendalough, Powers Court, The Cliffs of Mohar...Skibbereen is a lovely little town, Cork is very interesting. Theres a lovely little seasidey town called Bray near Dublin...
In fact, I am biased.
ANYWHERE AND EVERYWHERE in Ireland is bloody gorgeous, and the people!!
Stick a pin in your map, you won't be disappointed.

Ah in that case best to google donegal and derry, lots to do and see but if you are relying on buses? you need to work out what you can fit into your own time-scale.
I do not know Northern Ireland at all.
Maybe someone else here can suggest some places.

everyone wants to do the Killney bay trip in Ireland (Irish republic) in order to see the famous woolen store, Bono's house..(dunno does he still lives near Killney - too jet setty for me now) and the beautiful "black dog" countryside just south of Dublin... can't comment on the Noth....
