Well you got steatodas in Devon (and here in hants) and thats bad enough for me thanks! I've been bitten by one, didn't kill me obviously but hells bells it felt like it was going to! I was really ill.
On the upside, my auntie has lived in australia for about 60 years now and she's never been bitten by a spider so I wouldnt worry too much about that.
Wherever you go in the world there's summat to worry about - some parts of Canada has rabies, bears, nasty kinds of snakes......and no doubt like the Uk, both Canada and Australia its some of the people you got to be wary of!!

Australia is beautiful, as to which bit to visit, that depends on what you want. Western Australia (Perth and the Margaret River wine region below it) is relatively unspoilt but not the liveliest part of the country.

If you want nightlife then it really has to be Sydney or maybe Melbourne as second choice, it all depends on what you're after.

Oh, and the higher up the country you go, the more humid and sub-tropical it gets. Stick to the Margaret River side unless you like endless sweating and being constantly bitten by mozzies.

I've not been to Canada but a friend has just got back from there and he fell in love with Montreal. He reckons it's 'an America you could live in'.
