not really, ive been a couple of times, as i used to work for a travel company, got sent on educational holidays. but i do remember one cafe, it was called The Doors Coffee shop, they play music by the doors all day long and it has a strong doors theme. its good if you like the doors, but if you dont then this information is rather useless lol

i would just recommend you to walk about and you will find lots of nice bars n cafes as well as some nasty ones lol. the canal boat ride just outside central station was quite boring and i wouldnt recommend it really.

All I remember from my visit to Amsterdam was that there are so many bicycles in that city...I was a bit intoxicated to remember the names of cafes/clubs...
Stay away from Dirty Nellies Hostel. It may be cheap, but its filthy and stinks of fart.

Best Coffee shop Best Bar or Best Club? |

All you'll ever need and more !
Haven't been for a few years now but can't see it changing very much. If you must visit the coffee shops , not that I ever did mind , it's best to avoid the one's in the center.Much better value can be had in the little local ones in the 'burbs. The bars are all much the same but the nicer ones are again down the bottom end nearer Vondel Park and the Museums. Good comedy club down there. Best clubs are club Mazzo ( near Ann Franks ) but not sure if it's still called that or the Melkweg http://www.melkweg.nl/artikelpagina.jsp?artikelid=28950&disciplineid=events&agendaitemid=28951 .
Above all look out for the trams ,behave yourself and don't do anything that would make your mother cry.
NB. Avoid the Bulldog like the plague, full to the brim with neds !
