A male with ginger hair gets the ginger gene from his mother. The ginger is from the Spencer family line, and although there may or may not be ginger in the Windsor family line it is largely irrelevant to Harry's inheritance. Diana did not have ginger hair, but she may well have been a carrier of the gene (well she must have been really unless Harry is not Diana's son?).

Therefore either Diana's father was a ginger, or Diana's mother was a carrier. Freckles are usually a sign that a female has the ginger gene, and males are either ginger or frecked and strawberry blondes.

Twisted Evil

My natural colour is ginger, my father and grand father and his father are/were all ginger!

Two blondes can also often make a ginger!

I have blonde hair and blue/green eyes.

My mum, dad and younger brother all have dark brown eyes and dark brown hair. . .

I think Mum has some explaining to do lol

Obviously, a ginger girl must have a ginger father (he may not look the full McCoy but he will have some symptoms), and she will definately be a carrier if she has a ginger dad. I have seen two blond girls from a blond mother with a ginger father.

This definately sounds suspicious. Brown hair and brown eyes are dominant, and the probability of a female blonde hair with blue eyes is low. However, it does depend on your parents parents as well.

I think that the ginger gene can come from either the mother or the father. By the way unlike Prince William Harry looks nothing at all like Prince Charles but does bear a striking resemblence to James Hewitt.

The 'rumour' that i heard - from a copper - was that a newspaper (the Sun, or suchlike) was going to get the results of said DNA tests and Parliament passed a law making it illegal to print such news, PDQ.

Personally, i never heard anything about it one way or tuther.

I actually think that james hewitt and prince charles look like they are cousins or summat.........anybody know?

Anyways, the answer to original post is --- We aint never gonna find out eh?

Well, everything comes out eventually, it might take years, and someday in the future you might find yourself saying to your great-grandchildren "aaaah, see, I told you so"

Much like these days with DNA evidence proving or disproving crimes from the past...
