It's traditional to wear nothing. When wearing a kilt go to a weddin you have to be carful there's nobody crouching behind on the dancefloor, trying to up end up you, when taking a step back!

I’ve noticed that they also wear a fur-covered bag at the front, called a sporran. It covers the genital area, is typically very large and covered in animal fur: In other words, big enough for the average Scotsman’s tackle and warm enough for the wettest, coldest weather.
I’ve also noticed they carry a knifelike implement in their stocking, next to their leg, called a sgian dubh. This is supposed to be a ceremonial device, but you never see it being used in any ceremony, not even cutting the haggis on Burn’s Night.
(Or to welcome the firstfooter on Hogmanay! Razz )
So, here are my deductions:
The sporran has an extension at the back to allow the Scotsman to keep himself warm: it’s a glorified jockstrap. The knifelike implement has a matching piece in the sporran, which is used as a willy-warmer and swapped as needed for the warmer one on the leg. Can any Scotsman confirm this?
(Or not? Wink )
