light hearted thread for names.

Things that come to mind is that every year I seem to have contact with a lot of people who have the same name, as if I was a magnet for that particular name. This year seems to be Dans and Simons, last year was Adams and Dans and before that was Marks and Michaels.... weird

Then there's that strange thing that people often have names that are related to their job eg.
Flowerdew is a gardener, Mr. Leak a plumber.......

hey sue

wow that's funny you saying that. mum was saying something very similar to me on that one and it got me thinking of various names and their meanings or links to work etc.

lol

have a read through the phone book. you'll certainly be amused at the strange and amusing surnames found in there.

I seem to have periods where the same name crops up over and over,
recently martins and scotts, (sorry scottie Wink!)
It gets to the point, where if I am out and a gentleman comes over and says 'martin' I do feel the urge to run!

As for names - occupations, I hadnt ever noticed a link, however I will pay closer attention in the future

Not sure about real names, but there are a lot of girls with 'butterfly' and 'bumblebee' in their profile name atm. I assume it was google's summery logo sending them subliminal name suggestions.

I suppose I could stretch it to even include my ex-hubby 'cos when I first knew him, he was managing the cooked meats section in a supermarket, of which most products were 'ham' and his surname was Hammans.

For me they're generally named Emma, Emily or some variation of Sarah. This pattern has been with me throughout my life. When I was 17-18 I had three girlfriends in a row named Emma. I guess I just like the name.
