After looking at the dictionary, I'm relieved that 100% should have been my true score.
With tests like this no wonder so many do find spelling difficult.

I must say that there is one word used a lot on the forums that loads of people spell incorrectly....just thought I'd mention it, DEFINITELY is correct but many people write DEFINATELY an easy way to remember is that the word comes from something being Finite and having limits.

Like many others, I don't spell everything correctly anyway as it's about the way I talk or developed my own shorthand.

Really? I thought it was real. Laughing Laughing

It reminds me when I was ten or so, we had an English Spelling test and I got marked one wrong. I had written "professor" and my teacher said it should be "proffesor"....I didnt half argue with her and even got a detention for my insolence...til I gave the dictionary to her and told her to look it up...at first she refused....she came in the next day with a tin of sweets and gave me two and everyone else one!

I do slip up, but I'm one of those people who think spelling is still important and teachers should be 100% correct.
People who think spelling isn't important may lose their confidence pretty quick if their medication was wrong because of a spelling mistake, many medicines being very similar........and what about filing systems in alphabetical order? I remember an incidence of a staff member taking so long filing as she had no idea of A to Z and didn't know Ph or F or Th or similar alternatives to try checking in a logical way.

You telling me! Not a spelling mistake, but I took my son's prescript into the chemist - it said 1 x 50mg tab at night - first one he took he was zonked for 48hrs - the chemist gave him 500mg tabs! I double check them before leaving the chemist now!
