I pick this one:

1.to arouse the curiosity or interest of by unusual, new, or otherwise fascinating or compelling qualities; appeal strongly to; captivate: The plan intrigues me, but I wonder if it will work.

For you:
Facetious

2.amusing; humorous.

A word I hear quite often, usually in connection with "Don't be so" Sad

As for the question before I'll plead option 3. Although I like this edit 4)to pass (time) pleasantly: beguiling the long afternoon with choochi0. Smile

Although I was initially thinking more of
"beguiling
Adjective
charming, often in a deceptive way"
without the latter bit.

Maybe it's you who has been giving facetious a bad name?

In fairness it's only one person who says it to me. Though that might just be as many of my friends don't know the word...
Anyway I don't think I can solely be responsible.
