Ok i iwill say this and leave it at that unless some twat comes along and sets me off again. The rules clearly state that no links (within the posts) should point to ANY web site. One of the mods in that forum should have deleted it, ...i couldnt cos it's not my forum. Toby has a chat room, ..good or bad i dont know ive never been in it, ...point it it belongs to this site and if he wanted another one then im sure he would have done it himself. It's not doing this site any good if people are pissing off to chat elsewhere is it? If he gives the green light to this irc shit then fair enough but until then there is no need to be directing potential new posters to someone elses website is there?

Its been locked a couple of days now. Its done now till Toby says what he wants to do with it. It keeps getting brought up so thats what brings it to everyones attention again.

FFS this is what really gets me and you can tell a forum has gone down hill when you stay away for a while come back to find arguments and threads about whether or not someone should be allowed to use irc instead of the forum. fact of the matter is yes the borads have got boring. it if full of games and way off topic threads that do your head in. the people that made this forum fun have gone and some trouble makers returned.

You know i actually miss the fights that used to occour, at least there was some constance to the borads.

I personally hate chat rooms and not keen on msn either as most of you know so its forums all the way for me, however i have had about as much as i can take from this one, dont get me wrong there are a few people here that i love to bits but the place bores me, people moaning about this that and the other. ffs just get on with it and stop moaning. if a forum is not going the way you like it then start your own threads dont moan its boring.

I really can't be assed with it all anymore

On and on and on. And on.
I think what the problem actually is that some people do not have a clue what irc even is or what it's used for. So, to clarify. It's multi-player msn.
Some people who get on well prefer real time chat rather than having to keep sending messages.
Some people like a forum style life and, shockingly, some people like both.
I listen to several radio stations online, some are irc, some html/java/php live chat, some are conducted on msn. some in a forum
So, If I go to Radio Station A irc while I happen to be listening to Radio Station B and in their php chat and then post on a forum.. am I actually causing grief to either community? Simple answer is NO.
It's exactly the same here, I think some people could do with putting their toys back in their prams. It's the internet, people are free to roam on any part of it they want to. Because maybe 12 forum members out of hundreds choose to chat with each other doesn't mean that this place will go down the pan.
As Danni said above, make your own interesting threads if you want to liven the place up, irc has NOTHING to do with the content of what happens here, except this thread until it's inevitably locked.

PS. IRC is NOT a site. It's a server. It has nothing to do with websites.

I have to agree with Danni and 8legs on this some people like to real chat some like to do forums some like to do both. Irc will not kill the site off as i am a realtively noob to here for 2 weeks at the moment i dont want to come on the forums because of all the bs going on and the arguing its not what i came here for. At least i am having a laugh on the irc channel at the moment which unfortunately cannot be said of the forums.

and i agree with johna66 - if you post it, they will come.
make the forums go back to the interesting read they were rather than amusing games and you'll have more traffic here.

Make the forums go back to the interesting read?

Make them?

This is not an entertainment channel......

It takes the input of all users to liven the place up

At the moment new posters seems to be sticking to the 'games' section which is their choice

Perhaps you would like to start some new posts yourself?
