I was just thinking why are old profiles just left on the site? Why aren't they just deleted?

I think if there was some system where if somebody hadn't logged in for about 18 months, their profile was removed. Or if they hadn't logged in for 12 months their profile was made incative and they were sent an e-mail or something about it?

What do you think?

I'm not sure about deleting them, but something like deactivating them would be a good idea. They can be there, but just not show up in the results. They could then automatically be re-activated when someone logs in again.

Obviously, at some point, they'd need to be deleted, though.

Sometimes, they come back again...I once messages a girl.... 2 years later she was single again....logged in again...messaged me and we even got to know each other and met up....so it would have been a BAD idea if her profile had been removed!
