We know that most scammers set up a profile that says they are in the USA or UK or some European country.

We are able to set our mail preferences to restrict anyone from certain countries contacting us but, while the country may have a lot of scammers, it could also have a few legitimate people too. Estonia and other former Eastern Block countries are a prime example.

I'd like a simple switch on the mail that checks the country of the logged user against their profile. If the two don't match, they are restricted from sending mail to me.

As well as the list of countries of course.

This would weed out a large number of scammers contacting us but allow us to get contacts from the countries we want.

It already works like that.more or less. Countries are updated to the "real" countries on a regular basis
