what on earth does it have to do with money??? why do u come up with weird explanations and comparisons? Rolling Eyes I look at alot of profiles without messaging them cause I think I don't stand a chance! and I'm sure alot of people feel the same when they look at my profile! Twisted Evil What do u know, maybe I like a fat guy with geeky glasses! intelligence turns me on! Razz

So who are u any way? A friend of the programmer of this site??

Money is relevant because ALL the sites you talk about charge people to use them. Hence, this site is different because it doesn't charge people - it's here to help us find friends and dates. If your idea has been tried and tested, and then refused by the community, do you think there's a reason?

Give me a good reason why. Honestly, you have a good picture, a decent profile - if someone doesn't message you, it's because you're not compatible. You don't need to see "the ones who got away" because maybe they don't want you to know they were looking at you.

You say "but what if he thinks he's not in my league?" "What if I like a geeky guy in fat glasses?"

You've got a "likes" section on your profile. Use it to let these guys know.

Failing that, a "recently viewed your profile" section won't show anyone new - you'll still find them on the site just as quickly through a search.

The downside of this feature outweighs your "pro".

How can u say ALL ?? u know every single site on internet?? you are not convincing me with ur argument....

Motesplatsen.se
dejting.passagen.se

Here's a few sites that I know offer all their serviced for free, including profile visitors. The reason I have opened an account here is because it's international and has alot members. Again having an option is good. Those who want will active and inactive it with a click!

My apologies, I shouldn't have generalised and should have known better.

Again, elaborate as to how this feature is useful. Bear in mind, it must outweigh the right for people to remain anonymous - the same "shy geeky" type you said might think you're out of their league - but might also want to remain anonymous.

So again - explain how this feature will benefit.

Well honey the shy geeky guy can turn the function off and I only get to see the geeky guy who's not shy and doesn't mind me looking at his profile....it's a win win situation.

Sorry, I didn't ask that - What's the benefit of the system?

Have been looking at the postings regarding this topic and I for one would like to be able to see who has viewed my profile. I understand entirely the argument that those who have viewed without sending a message probably aren't interested in the owner of the profile, but equally there could well be other reasons, some of which have already been outlined earlier in this thread.

Regards to one and all.

Ok.

Toby did put the 'who has viewed my profile' thing up.

The majority of us didn't like it.

So he took it down again.

End of.

The majority of us?

How many of the Flirtbox members were aware of the facility whilst it was available I wonder? I certainly wasn't! And if one doesn't know that something exists, then how can that person's view on the subject be measured?

But never mind; it's still a good site.

Well a box appeared near the 'members currently online' or whatever part. You couldn't miss it.

Maybe if some people took more time out to look around the page, they would have noticed it at the time.

Well if that is the case then I have to own up - I missed it! But yes you have a point - I often don't spend enough time to looking at what 'other' things are on the screen, so it looks as though I missed that one - and presumeably the opportunity to vote on its retention or demise. Ah well, such is life!

The system didn't have the ability to be switched off during tests. Hence most of the forum users, who are Toby's testers for all-things-new deemed it an invasion of privacy. It'll be re-released when it has a feature that allows users to switch it off, and apparently it could potentially slow down the site - so that'd need fixing too.

Relax, your opinions are valid - but at the time, this was a major change that couldn't be kept running in it's current form.

Many thanks for the info update. Excellent idea to give people a chance to opt in or out. Will try to keep an eye open for the feature when it's reinstated! Thanks and regards to those who have responded - and everyone else as well of course.
