I am interested in redesigning the main website. Can we initiate a discussion into what architecture you run on and your partucilar needs. Eg What kind of database you use, etc

Thanks

Surely for the design all you would need to do is design a css sheet ?

A Css sheet is the top layer in terms of website design. While a css can change the general look of the design, it does not change the way it functions.

For example changing the way profile pictures are displayed could do with a change, which will require changing the html.

An example would be using a flash swf instead of javascript to display the pictures.

Any other ideas?

Yes I know this, hence why it is called a "Webdesign Competition" not a "Website functionality competition"...

I think that's the idea, the brief says redesign a page and send it to toby basically so just do a basic layout of any of the pages in your own design and send it Smile

Just a quick personal thought - shockwave flash - I dont have that add-on to internet explorer so I wont be able to see pictures displayed with it.

There was a thingy - KISS - keep it simple, stupid, the more simple it is, the better

That was my exact same problem as well, I asked him if the competition was still current at all, BEFORE i would start any work, so i wouldnt waste my time, and then in his reply he said that he "didnt like my design mockup", but as I said i havent designed anything yet so he was clearly mixing me up with someone else , which i have told him, but didnt get any reply since that...

I dont know what to do, i would love to prove that i could do a great design, i just want to make sure that he still wants it, and know exactly what is required besides the design, a new logo, how much of the original layout he wants to be recreated in the new design, and how are we going to be in touch??

Anyways, I am still hoping to get an answer so i could start working on something.
