Hi, is Flirtbox.co.uk down for maintainence as i keep getting this message as i try to log in...

| If you see this message, this is because your internet proxy/provider still
return the old ip address of flirtbox. We have moved to a new webserver...please be patient until you can access the new server or try to refresh your browser cache or clear your internet connection. If you logged in anyway, all your messages would be "gone"......as the database has already been migrated. |

The server is being migrated. It will all resolve itself in a day or two.

Site is just changing its place of residence, so it may appear to work unstable, as I grasp the problem... And it's recommended to duplicate the messages which one has sent during past day, because of they could be lost...
And check out this thread: http://www.flirtbox.net/london/i-swear-on-your-mums-that-flirtbox-just-crashed-.html#

i cant understand tho.how come i can log into flirtbox.com but cant log into any of the other flirtboxs.and other people can log into the other flirtboxes and use them but i cant.is this just the new server putting the finishing touches to the new system

log in as flirtbox.com (not as flirtbox.co.uk) - seems to work for now.
if you then click on profiles and some don't show - prompting you to 'log in' again, just change the flirtbox.co.uk to flirtbox.com in the address line of the profile (the bit that appears in front of the person's profile name), and hit 'enter' again... that works for now too...

Edited as i should really read back what i write sometimes, it wasn't really a question more of a comment.
Thank you for the details below.

Sorry, thought the message was clear.
The problem is when moving to a new webserver, that depending on your location, internet provider, country etc... you will see either the old or new webserver.
Why is this?
When you enter www.domain.com in your webbrowser, there will be a query to something called "nameserver" that will look for the ip address that corresponds to the domain name.
So it will ask for "What is the IP for www.domain.com?" and the nameserver will return te IP of the webserver, such as 1.2.3.4.
As this usually does not change very often, many proxies and servers "cache" the ip address so that they dont have to ask the same question all the time and instead just remember the answer.
However, some remember the answer for some minutes, some for hours and some even for days, before they ask again. So when you are unlucky your proxy and the servers in between you and the website will store the old ip address for a long time and not find out that the webserver has moved.
You can however do a trick: Make a local hosts file and tell you computer to which ip address to go directly for a particular domain name without asking the nameserver.
So if anyone still has problems go to:
c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
and add this line:
87.230.102.10 www.flirtbox.co.uk
87.230.102.10 london.flirtbox.co.uk
or:
87.230.102.10 www.flirtbox.com
or whatever flirtbox domain you want to access.
