Thanks for that Bernard, my FF is v2.0 so I had to find another spell checker as that one only does v1, however I got there in the end..

Also the cookies seem to be working in FF..

Very strange.

I'm having a problem with the regular site. IE crashes within 3 seconds of page trying to load. Here too. I cannot use IE here at all. I can go anywhere else just fine, with no problems at all. So I believe it does have something to do with this site. Sea Monkey works and so does Firefox. Since most folks still use IE (80-90%) I recommend getting it fixed, or this community will languish, and may never reach it's full potential. Sure us net geeks can work around the problems, but average folks won't bother.

Well I'm stuck with using FF if I want to use this site as IE7 needs XP SP2 which I refuse to install Confused

Does anyone else see the scripting error at the top of the forums which makes part of the logo appear out of place?

Don't actually see the scripting error, but I do see the logo out of place (slightly)

interesting, care to explain why XP2 is a no go for you, considering that its VERY stable and the most secure service pack, also support for XP1 (and all subsequent updates) will stop unless you have XP2?

The security features in SP2 conflicts with some software that I run on my machine, and although you can disable them, you can't get rid of them.

Windows is never great, that's why their always putting out hot fixes. I didn't bother with XP until they bought the first SP out, it's just typical Microsoft running a product that's not finished.

interesting analysis, but the fact is they bring out so many patches because the software is always evolving and changing, new threats are discovered daily and so to keep a secure platform they require these updates.

but im VERY curious, what software are you running that is conflicting with the most compatible OS on the market??? and if its because of the inbuilt firewall then id change software, before you ask im not a microsoft fanboi, just think that anyone not using the latest software provided for free on a regular basis, they are asking for trouble and conflicts. hmm, could also be the source of your "other" problem.

-firefox 2 does have a inline buil-in splellcherk, though to check replies, you may need to enable to check 'single-line controls - type 'about:config' in the URL bit & change the 'layout.spellcheckDefault.' value to 2
-IE7 isn't compatible with a number of applicatiosn, for example Remote Access systems, this might be a cause of any of your problems...ninstal!!!, until ther ar patches released....a good time will be mid-january!
- On Windows XP, if you IE (Internet Explorer ) isn't functioning...the only way to re-install Service Pack 2 but BEFORE Hand..don't forget the 3 A's - runa spyware check (Ad-Aware, www.lavasoft.de and\or Spybot ), Upt-to-Date & Legal AntiVirus Software scan...and a Running Firewall ) (the fourth A is Windows XP for dummies...allways useful for the uninitiated
