Sorry guys for such a silly question.....

There is a young lady who has totally charmed me and I sent her an email but I am not 100% if I have indeed sent it...When I checked in outbox I see a little icon that looks like a piece of white paper with writing on it. I hovered my mouse button over it....but nothing showed.

Please help!

This means to me that you have sent her mail and she has not yet read it The icon will go when she has logged in and read it.
