Hmm, over the last couple of days I've received emails from 2 different russian girls. Both from the same city (no, not moscow) and both saying "all my friends are married and not me", " my hobbies are cooking and cleaning" and even both saying "my mother sends her regards"....

both are very attractive girls. but i can't help but wonder that i'm about to be scammed somehow. A bit too much of a coincidence. What sort of things should I look out for?

Well usually they ask for money or just help in coming to see you. But you shouldn't be looking for signs anymore - they should be on your block list Cool

Oh My God, you mean i may never see any of my 29 wives OR the £90,000 i've forked out for air fares? Oh well, not to worry, we have a LOT of russians, polish and whatever else working round here. I'm sure one those can cook and clean.

If the english is really bad, like its been a straight translation from Russian to English, dont trust it.

My mother says hi? Laughing

YourManForever - I find your comment quite degrading to the so-called Eastern Europeans and women in general! By the way, "whatever else" is not a nationality... Cool

I got a message once from someone called sweetexgabby, with her e-mail address. I happily enetered into friendly correspondence - she sent me a couple of pictures of herself (allegedly) - she was quite pretty, nice figure etc., said she was a model. She then told she she was on a photoshoot in Lagos, Nigeria (the alarm bells start ringing). Next I hear, her manager has let her down and left her with $400 owing on an airline ticket - she even sent me a KLM receipt to "prove" it.

I told her I couldn't help.

She then said her manager had managed to come up with $150, and could I help her with the remaining $250.

I told her I couldn't help.

I then got an e-mail from one Folabi Ayorinde, supposedly medical director of Jonavic Hospitals in Lagos (which funnily enough didn't appear on a google search!). Gabriella Ganzallo (the name she told me) had been involved in a car accident, and had my name and e-mail in her passport - what was my relations to her.

Anticipating a bill for medical fees, the correspondence ended there... but it was an interesting experience!!! LOL

Very true Kathy. I was actually referring to the emails i get quite often which are all pretty much the same, even though they are from "different" women...

"To me of 25 years, i very much liked your structure. I doesn't marry or find my true love but you i like correspondance. Myself enjoy cinema, Burger King, countryside, cooking, horse riding and cleaning. I care much for looking after man i love. Please email on my personal address FakeRussianBird @yandex.ru.
Your new friend, Irina."

I'm sure most of the men here have read this kind of mail 100's of times before but i guess not many ladies will have seen one? It always amazes me how they speak "bad" english, however they often (correctly) use abbreviations such as can't, won't, doesn't, etc.

Not just the guys! I've had a couple of these from women too and about a dozen from guys around Africa.

Just curious, does she use the name Lisa Fele, reason I ask is...........I was sent so called proof of an airline ticket by the girl I have just mentioned, and she needed so many $ to help with payment.

Needless to say she didn't get any money from me, and never will do.

That name didn't crop up, but sounds very6 much like the same scam...

I've had loads of e-mails recently almost identical to the one mentioned earlier quoting Russian e-mail addresses... interestingly, they purport to be messages I have received via flirtbox, however, the difference is that the e-mail notifications come from support@www.flirtbox.co.uk as compared to the genuine ones that come from support@flirtbox.co.uk...
