Hmm... Well, growing up I was made to feel that any emotion shown made me weak. Which is why you'll struggle to find a photo of my smilling and when I laugh I make hardly any noise. I've been told that when I get going I sound like Muttly.
Getting old and wiser I've decided that NOT showing emotions makes you weak. That and holding stuff in fucks with your head. And if I'm being honest and the person knows I am then it leaves them wide open and free to be the same.

Im assuming from your earlier posts that you know women who are friends and who have been friends for longer than a night. Proper friends, the type you would go for a beer for and talk rubbish all night with and it doesnt mean anything. Thats the type of friend I mean, not what you are implying there that you are friends with them for a night and then - for some reason - they dont want to know you afterwards.
Read my post again, and dont read just the words, try to get the meaning of what I was saying, and next time you reply, dont reply with the negative "but none of the...." try looking at the positive "Thanks for your advice, Ill think about what you are saying", or "Thanks for the advice. I know what you are meaning but it doesnt apply with me because... but I can try to fit it round my situation", being negative will get you nowhere. Sometimes I can see why people here have get very fustrated with you.
Anyway... sorry for the interuption.
Going back to the presents and flowers and things, its nice to give presents to people, spoil them a bit with flowers and stuff. So dont feel so bad when your man is showing of his caveman side by proving he would be a good providor for your family - he might actually enjoy seeing your face light up with a smile when he gives you a nice present!

See, ignore him being a caveman....
I think if my flatmate came back with flowers for me one day, I would get a new flat the next day, he would scare me!

| Stoney, if you want to attract a woman, you need to acquire some resources. If these were caveman times, the object of your affections would shun you for the guy with the big warm cave because if she mated with you she and her baby would most likely die. |

| You don't have to be loaded to have these resources, and being stupid with money only demonstrates that you are reckless, but you do need the basics.
You will not get a woman before you get shelter. |

but your homeless... surely getting back on your feet is more important then meeting women...
obv no-one can tell you what to do with your life.. but you need to have priorities and yours seem to be pulling rather then getting somewhere to live and getting a job..
plus you only have to do that job for a few months, just enough time to get yourself somewhere to live then you could choose something else, but you would have more choice as you have a home

Humans still pool their resources- it's called tax.
Also, in these 'communes' you describe, everyone would be equal (or nearly so) and share resources. Anyone who did not pull their weight (and in modern society that would be you) would not have been welcome in the community.
I still maintain that males with better resources would be more successful with the opposite sex. I don't care what Marx called it (he would have been extremely biased) there still would have been a pecking order.
I maintain that a man who cannot prove to a female that he has the ability to provide for offspring will not get the girl.
