Sorry, I didn't mean that to sound like it did. I'm not bothered with appearances either providing I could recognise the people I was meeting BUT as me standing up, was level with most sitting down, I was kind of aware that I'm only 5ft 2in!!It also makes a difference if I'm trying to buy drinks in a crowded bar Embarassed

Sorry for the mistake! And i'll add im only 5ft 3and a half, and i am pretty proud of that half! But i do wear like 5 inch heals so i can get seen at the bar!

Look for the male bar worker, give him a glimpse of your cleavage and he'll serve you first all night long.
Anybody knows how to get served quickly at a bar...

I don't take offence easily although I am opinionated. Me in heels is rare, but I bet you look great in yours.

As for getting noticed in the bar, I do have my ways even if it does mean I have to climb on the rails and lean over.....or making eyes at the barman Wink

But it can be a disconcerting and embarrassing when you meet someone you have been chatting to as a friend, and you totally DON'T recognise them when you meet.

Example.:
Went to a meet recently and went into a pub and looked around for anyone I knew. I could see a women smiling and waving in my direction, but I wasnt sure if it was at me or someone behind me. Walked towards her and she said excitedly 'JEGGS??'..and I thought..who is she???

She then told me her username. Then she said 'you didnt recognise me!!!'. It was very uncomfortable for me. But luckily she was okay about it, and I did explain her pic does look a bit different. I've known her off the site for over three years, but didnt recognise her at all. Meeting did improve things for us on the site though, which is sad in some ways.
Thats happened a few times and some women take it a bit different to her, and it does make things uncomfortable.

Probably why at plentyoffish you have to wear name tags Surprised

It probably does draw into question honesty..and pics. Maybe I should put up a not so honest pic to improve my experience on the forums and site??

Doubt it. I wouldnt say I've got mates on here coming out of the woodwork, and I'm fed up with going to meets, just to prove myself and just making the numbers up.

I'm knocking the meets on the head on other sites as I'm sick of the hypocrisy I get.

Also it make you think how real some people are if they dont go to any meets at all, which was my original point. missmossy wouldnt have went to any meets

I guess if somebody suggests a date, time and place then those interested can respond from there. At the moment it seems like this thread is gauging interest for attendance, and it seems like the date will be after Christmas, but suggesting places is being banded around.

That's ok hansel. For me, I'm just expressing a willingness and desire to meet, but at the end of the day, I will see when and where is decided by the definite people and see if I can work it into my visits to London.
