I'm gona be in London between 20th and 30th December. I know it might be a bit too close to Christmas but anyhow, thought I'd just start off with dates from my perspective.

Yes, I'm sure that's the case. I've only been on the one meet, but we were all chatterboxes that liked a laugh as well as our food and drink with a bit of culture thrown in. Oddly enough the only surprises for me were more appearances, heights and looking better than their pictures.

Some do look better, and some dont. I've had a few disappointments.

In fact I fell out with a good friend on another site because I told her she didnt look like her pic. She wasnt happy that I told her. But we are friends again now.

Not sure why she had a problem with it Surprised

I dont tend to think about looks, especially if its a general meet ......... now a date would be different obviously. Just find it bizarre how different peoples personalities are in real life to there online ones Very Happy

I have a perfectly good explanation. But I will not speak of it here, I am happy to help in anything that you would like.

If it helps, I think that Chet had the best idea yet, but Sue's came a close second. A 1,2,3 kind of thing with daytime activity, a bar (or three) and a club.
The activities I would suggest are the museums (south Kensington obviously is the best as it has a lot in a short space) or the British museum in Trafalgar Square. Other than that, how about the zoo? That also leaves you local to Camden Town for drinking and clubbing a plenty (though the clubs there tend to be live music.)

Personally I'm not sure I'd get into many clubs, I won't adhere to a dress code, I wear my trainers and jeans at all times, but I'm happy to forgo that part. Also, definitely after christmas for me, I have a distinct lack of cash at the present time.

If it's around the weekend of the 16-17 Jan (London Art Fair, if anyone fancies it) - I'll come along to the meet. Just the daytime or pub, tho.
Club music sounds deafening, at my age.
(Plus I might be tempted to dance! Evil or Very Mad )

The British Museum is Russel Square and The National Gallery is at Trafalgar Square, just correcting a slip 'cos it might make the difference to people's thinking as to how the places connect.

It's true there's quite a lot of night life around the Camden Area and all the clubs I've been to round
that area didn't seem to have any strict dress codes. There was one place, in a pub that used to be like going into a time warp into the 60s including primitive bubble light shows and regulars were all in the 60s fashion, but none of my crowd were and we were still allowed in. Then there's a Jazz cafe or The Underworld plus that place that's got several 'halls' inside for the different music, honestly I can't remember what the places were called but a few had live bands.

The trouble with the night life for me is getting back to where I'd be staying by myself as night buses never go quite near enough for me.[/list]

Apologies whysoserious! I knew you wouldnt let me down! Wink

In the new year is no doubt a better option and hopefully ill have a job by then to fund my alcohol! ha ha!!!

Doesnt have to be going to club at the end, it was just a thought if anyone wanted to do that but guess really its left up to those who will want to at the time and of course if that happens all are welcome!
But again getting home for most people late a night is going to be a problem especially for us ladies having to travel back on our own!

Thanks for the correction Sue, I just re-read my post and realised that I was mistaken in what I typed. I do indeed know the difference, and what is where, but my brain is functioning at about 3% efficiency today.

Camden Koko is a very large venue, but sometimes it can be a bit difficult gaining access to the different areas. I'm not too sure about costs and such.
