I think Deep blue would suit you better personally...well, I do, but I also rather wanted to see the shocked look on your face at the mere thought *snicker*

I've done red-pink, was fun, but as I doubt I need an identifier as I'm the only person round here with a nose-ring, I think I needn't stress my hair out - I just dyed it black!

And here I thought we had a secret handshake or something...

...and I realise I have just said something which will cause most readers to snicker but that's a free service I offer with each post!

manchester would probably be easier for everyone, pretty central for everyone and good for flights for the irish folks if they are for going.

anyone heading down from scotland would be able to get a cheap train with megatrain who have been doing trains to manchester with virgin for £1.50 each way + booking fee

Manchester would be nice i would travel there o sorry i live there already still can't get lost then. As long as its not the first weekend! Laughing

I'm going synthetic dredlocks black/purple again. There are no words to describe the bliss of getting up and realising I do NOT have to struggle for a half hour with my hair while my son peels paint off the walls downstairs.

Only downer is whether I can handle all that hair on my head while going swimming at the gym...

Aaaaaaaand on topic again, hm, I know zilch about manchester, only drove through their once so maps and things required

I know parts of Manchester with having lived in Bolton for 40 years of my life, and obviously I know how to get there from here in Kent.

Just popping my head in. I've seen the organisation of a few events - I'm part of a web forum for people who like the classic mini and we had the club's third birthday bash in the Lake District recently.

Things that generally get numbers up for meetings:

Easy to get to
Cheap
Some unique events
Alternatives for people to do if they can't handle being around strange folk for an entire weekend or similar

Hotels are one option, youth hostel type things are another option - we took over an old army training house in Keswick which took 56 people and it only cost £30 for the whole weekend. Club admin arranged music for the hall, some party decorations and some games. We had some unique awards for people that know each other, people brought various treats from their regions. Saturday daytime involved a drive out round the hills in fancy dress (pirates) and a mass pie eating for lunch at a pub (pre-arranged so the pub was ready).

Don't know if any of that helps you though..
